General description

Steroid receptor coactivator-3 (SRC-3) is a transcriptional coactivator,. It belongs to the p160 SRC family. SRC-3 is located on human chromosome 20q13.

Immunogen

The epitope recognized by PLA0095 maps to a region between residue 900 and 950 of human Steroid Receptor Coactivator 3 using the numbering given in entry NP_858045.1 (GeneID 8202).

Biochem/physiol Actions

Steroid receptor coactivator-3 (SRC-3) participates in the genesis and development of various cancers. SRC-3 possesses histone acetyltransferase activity. It modulates the expression of target genes, that participates in various biological processes, such as cell proliferation, differentiation and migration. SRC-3 increases the migration and invasion of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) cells.

Steroid receptor coactivator 3 (SRC3) belongs to the SRC family of proteins that interacts with nuclear receptors to facilitate transcription. The 3 homologous members of this family are SRC-1 (NCoA-1), SRC-2 (GRIP1, TIF2, or NcoA-2), and SRC-3 (p/CIP, RAC3, ACTR, AIB1, or TRAM-1). SRC3 is an oncogene that is reported to be amplified and/or overexpressed in breast and gastric cancer and stimulates AKT signaling and cell growth and tumorigenesis.
