Methanol, also known as Methyl alcohol, is a colorless organic solvent commonly used to dissolve substances with high and medium polarity. It is also used as a starting material/solvent for synthesis.

Application

Methanol is used as a solvent:
  • In the mobile phase during the reversed phase for high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis.
  • To prepare the stock solution of Fluorescein dye.
