General description

Aflatoxins are hepatotoxic metabolites,[4] that are produced by molds, such as, Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus.[5] They are naturally occurring poisonous carcinogens and the most widely known mycotoxins.[6] They are associated with liver cancer[6] and immune system suppression.[5]
