AC187 is an orally active, potent and selective amylin receptor antagonist that increases glucagon secretion, alters plasma glucose levels and increases food intake in vivo. AC187 completely blocks internalization of amylin monomers in pancreatic cells. AC187 blocks β-amyloid neurotoxicity in rats.
