Ein potenter Vasodilatator, der in normalem Gewebe und Blut vorkommt. Aktiviert die Stickstoffmonoxid-Synthase.

Ein potenter Vasodilatator, der in normalem Gewebe und Blut vorkommt. Gebildet durch die Decarboxylierung von L-Histidin. Aktiviert die Stickstoffmonoxid-Synthase (NOS), was die Freisetzung von Stickstoffoxid zur Folge hat. Die Aktivierung der Histamin H₁-Rezeptoren führt zur Mobilisierung von Ca²⁺ und die Aktivierung der Histamin H₂-Rezeptoren stimuliert wiederum die Adenylatcyclase-Aktivität in Neuronen. Hemmt die Synthese von IL-2 und γ;-IFN in mononukleäaren Zellen des peripheren Bluts und die durch Lipopolysaccharid induzierte Synthese von TNF-α; in Monozyten durch Aktivierung der H₂-Rezeptoren.
