Antibiotic effective against Gram-positive bacteria. Blocks cell wall formation in growing cells, resulting in accumulation of uracil nucleotides of muramic acid peptides. Acts at the final stage of cell wall synthesis and prevents cross-linking of peptidoglycan strands.

Antibiotic effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Blocks cell wall formation in growing cells, resulting in the accumulation of uracil nucleotides of muramic acid peptides. Acts at the final stage of cell wall synthesis and prevents cross-linking of peptidoglycan strands.

Note: 1 MU = 1,000,000 units.

Preparation Note

Following reconstitution, refrigerate (4°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 1 week at 4°C.

Other Notes

One unit is equivalent to 0.6 µg of penicillin G.
