General description

Dieser Maus-Leptin-ELISA wird zur Messung und Quantifizierung des Leptinspiegels in der Metabolismus- und Endokrinforschung sowie in der Neurowissenschaft verwendet. Leptin ist ein Hormon oder Cytokin, das aus im Blut zirkulierenden Adipozyten stammt. Es wirkt als Regulator der Nahrungsaufnahme und des Energieverbrauchs über den Hypothalamus. Dieses Hormon spielt auch eine Rolle bei der Angiogenese, dem Lipid- und Kohlenhydratmetabolismus und der Hämatopoese. Leptin übt seine Wirkungen auf das kardiovaskuläre, das reproduktive und das Immunsystem aus. Leptinmangel ist bei Nagetieren mit Fettleibigkeit und Insulinresistenz asoziiert.
