General description
Isopropyl β-D-Thiogalactopyranosid (IPTG) ist ein molekularbiologisches Reagenz, das zur Induktion der Genexpression in bakteriellen Systemen verwendet wird. Es ahmt Laktose nach und bindet an das lac-Repressorprotein, was zur Genaktivierung führt. IPTG ist für die Untersuchung der Genregulation, der Proteinexpression und der rekombinanten Proteinproduktion von entscheidender Bedeutung und liefert wertvolle Erkenntnisse für die zell- und molekularbiologische Forschung.
Application
IPTG wird wie folgt verwendet:
IPTG wird häufig in Klonungsverfahren verwendet, bei denen die Induktion von β-Galactosidase-Aktivität erforderlich ist. Es wird zusammen mit X-Gal oder Bluo-Gal in der Blau/Weiß-Selektion von Kolonien rekombinanter Bakterien genutzt, die die Expression des lac-Operons in Escherichia coli induzieren. IPTG funktioniert durch Bindung an den lacI-Repressor und Veränderung seiner Konformation, was die Unterdrückung des β-Galactosidase-codierenden Gens lacZ verhindert.
Biochem/physiol Actions
IPTG ist ein nicht verstoffwechselbares Analogon von Allolaktose. Es wirkt als Induktor, der die Transkriptionsaktivität des lac-Promotors reguliert, eines Promotors, der für die Expression des Proteins in E.coli verwendet wird.
Preparation Note
Eine Stammlösung (0,1 M) wird durch Auflösen von IPTG in Wasser mit nachfolgender steriler Filterung der Lösung hergestellt. Die endgültige Konzentration von IPTG in den Indikatorplatten sollte 0,2 mM betragen.

If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.
