Application

9,11-Didesoxy-11α,9α-epoxymethanprostaglandin F2α wurde wie folgt verwendet:

• zum Einleiten der Kontraktion von glatten Muskelzellen der Aorta in Mäusen mit einem Mangel des Myosin-Leichtkette-9(Myl9)-Gens
• zum Einleiten der Kontraktion als Teil von vaskulären Reaktivitätsexperimenten mit Mausaorten
• als Thromboxan/Prostaglandin-Agonist zum Untersuchen der Wirkung von Dithiothreitol (DTT) auf die Arterienviabilität von Mäusen

Biochem/physiol Actions

9,11-Didesoxy-11α,9α-epoxymethanprostaglandin F2α ist ein Thromboxan-A2-Agonist. Es eignet sich für In-vitro-Experimente zum Einleiten der Formveränderung, Aggregation, Sekretion, Phosphoinositidhydrolyse und Proteinphosphorylierung in Thrombozyten. Es verursacht auch eine Erhöhung der zytosolischen Ca⁺⁺-Werte, was die Bildung von zyklischem Adenosinmonophosphat (cAMP) leicht beeinträchtigt. Es dient als wirksamer Stimulator von VCAM-1 (vascular cell adhesion protein 1), das die Leukozytenadhäsion an das Endothel vermittelt.
