The long-term stability of a stock solution stored at -20ºC has not been evaluated. It is recommended to prepare stock solutions in degassed water and store them in working aliquots in order to extend the stability. Solutions stored refrigerated are stable for 30 days. Frozen aliquots would be expected to be stable for at least as long as the refrigerated solution.

General description
Putrescin ist ein Endprodukt des Fettäsurenmetabolismus in toten Geweben. Es handelt sich um ein flüchtiges Diamin mit stechendem Geruch. Es wird durch die Decarboxylierung von Ornithin in Gegenwart des Enzyms Ornithin-Decarboxylase synthetisiert. Studien zu molekularem Docking zeigen die Bindung von Putrescin an die menschlichen Rezeptoren TAAR6 und TAAR8 (Spurenamin-assoziierte Rezeptoren), die sich im Riechepithel befinden.
