General description

The buffer solution (di-sodium hydrogen phosphate/potassium dihydrogen phosphate) is gravimetrically prepared using high-quality salts in high-purity water. It is quality controlled and qualified in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration lab. Its pH value of 7.00 at 20°C is qualified following a 5-point calibration method, using a combined glass electrode, in accordance with DIN 19268, against reference buffer solutions following DIN 19266.

Please visit ISO certificates and Site Quality Self-Assessments to access the current certificates of accreditation.

Download your certificate at http://www.sigma-aldrich.com to view certified values, including uncertainty and expiry date.

Application

The di-sodium hydrogen phosphate/potassium dihydrogen phosphate buffer solution finds applications in analytical procedures for the calibration, qualification, and monitoring of pH measuring instruments.

Questions

1–6 of 6 Questions
  1. Do you have any information on the presence of any minor impurities in this buffer solution (product ref 1094391000)?

    1 answer
    1. An impurity analysis is not performed on this product.

      Helpful?

  2. Is this product a stock solution or could it be diluted?

    1 answer
    1. This product is supplied ready to use for the calibration, qualification, and monitoring of pH measuring instruments. The pH value is certified for the solution as is, and this product is not intended to be diluted.

      Helpful?

  3. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1 answer
    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  4. Hello, Is there information on the proportions and concentrations of the solutions in this mixture available?

    1 answer
    1. The exact concentrations and ratio of disodium hydrogen phosphate and potassium dihydrogen phosphate used to prepare this buffer solution are proprietary information and cannot be disclosed.

      Helpful?

  5. Hello, I bought the buffer solution CRM. However, I can`t know M (mole concentration). Could you send me the information of mole concentration of this product?

    1 answer
    1. This product is intended for use as a pH 7.00 reference standard. The final concentration of each component is not evaluated. The initial component concentrations are listed below. However, the addition of Sodium Hydroxide and Hydrochloric Acid for pH adjustment is not factored in to these values. This is an approximation, only.
      Potassium Phosphate monobasic - 3.52 g/L
      Sodium Phosphate Dibasic dihydrate - 7.27 g/L

  6. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1 answer
    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For more information, please refer to the Storage and Transport Conditions document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/316/622/storage-transport-conditions-mk.pdf
