Chloroperoxidase (CPO) helps in the catalysis of oxidation reactions with the help of hydrogen peroxide.[1] It displays peroxidase, catalase and cytochrome P450-like functions. CPO also plays a role in catalyzing halogenation reactions.[2]

Chloroperoxidase (CPO) is a major heme-containing,[2] synthetic and versatile enzyme, obtained from Caldariomyces fumago.[1]

1 U corresponds to the amount of enzyme which converts 1 μmol of monochlorodimedone to dichlorodimedone per minute at pH 2.75 and 25 °C in the presence of KCl and H₂O₂.
