Biochem/physiol Actions

Venlafaxin ist ein Antidepressivum. Der Mechanismus der antidepressiven Wirkung von Venlafaxin beim Menschen ist mit der Potenzierung der Aktivität der Neurotransmitter im Zentralnervensystem verknüpft. Venlafaxin ist ein wirksamer Serotonin-Noradrenalin-Wiederaufnahme-Hemmer und ein schwacher Dopamin-Wiederaufnahme-Hemmer. Venlafaxin hat in vitro keine signifikante Wirkung auf Muscarin-, histaminerge oder α-1-adrenerge Rezeptoren. Venlafaxin besitzt keine MAO-Inhibitor-Aktivität.

Venlafaxin ist ein Dual-Serotonin-Noradrenalin-Wiederaufnahme-Hemmer, der Ki-Werte von 82 bzw. 2480 nM aufweist. Es ist ein Antidepressivum.
