Questions

  1. Which cultureware is compatible with the Millicell DCI?

    1 answer
    1. Typically, anything that is observable under a microscope at a 10x objective can be viewed and imaged on the Millicell DCI. It is important to consider the following dimensions:

      • The image viewing area measures 2.4 x 1.4mm.
A standard 96 well is typically 6-7mm in diameter. As a result, each well can be imaged, but the entire well won't be in view.

•The light source arm is positioned 2.2 inches above the platform.
The maximum vessel height is 2.19 inches (55.6mm).
      • The focal plane ranges from 0 to 8.75mm above the bottom of the vessel.

    Great Cell Imager

We are very happy with the cell imager particularly how easy it is to use. We have also found the fact that it can determine confluency and cell concentration within the cell culture flasks very useful, eliminating the usual manual labour of our traditional way of cell counting. Using the machine to photograph cells within culture flasks has also proven to be useful and it has a small footprint.
