Application

9,10-Diphenylanthracene may be used as an analytical standard for the determination of the analyte in fish and meat products by liquid chromatography (LC) as well as capillary gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) techniques.[1] It may be used as an internal standard for the determination of halofantrine and desbutylhalofantrine in animal biological samples using on-line UV irradiation and POCL detection.[2]

General description

9,10-Diphenylanthracene, an aromatic hydrocarbon, is a blue light emitting material that is used for the measurement of fluorescence quantum yields in dilute solutions. Its derivatives show potential candidature in organic light emitting diode (OLED) devices.[3][4] It is also used as a fluorophore for the study of peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence (POCL).[5][6]
