Ion chromatography (IC) separates charged molecules based on their affinity to the ion-exchange resin. It is of two types- cation exchange and anion exchange. IC determines the ions in aqueous solutions down to the parts per trillion (ppt) range. It is one of the best methods to offer quantitative analysis of ions at the ppt level.
