General description

Application

Ethanol has been used as a solvent in the synthesis of Pd/SiO2 xerogel catalysts for hydrodechlorination of dichloroethane.

  1. Is this ethanol suitable for use in perfumery as a solvent or carrier for fragrance oils? Given its high purity, will it support the fragrance well or could it cause any issues with long-term stability?

    1. This product is not suitable for cosmetic applications. Unless otherwise stated, this product is intended for research use only. It is not suitable for any other purpose, which includes, but is not limited to, unauthorized commercial use, in vitro diagnostic use, or therapeutic use in humans or animals.

  3. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  4. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.     1. The product with code 1009836010 is a 10 L stainless steel drum, and the product with code 1009836025 is a 25 L stainless steel drum.

  7. Hi .I need ethanol for etching mxene phase which purities mor than 99.8.is this product suitable for.if not which kind of methanol do you suggest me.warm wishes.

    1. Unfortunately, none of the ethanol products are tested for use in etching applications. This product has a minimum purity specification of 99.9% and testing includes extensive trace analysis.
