Bildet ein Aminopropylderivat aus Glas, das als Adsorbens in der Affinitätschromatographie verwendet wird. Wird für die Zubereitung von positiv geladenen Objektträgern verwendet, die sich für den Einsatz in verschiedenen immunhistochemischen und in-situ-Hybridisierungsverfahren eignen.[1] (3-Aminopropyl)triethoxysilan wurde kürzlich für die Zubereitung von farbstoffdotierten Siliciumnanopartikeln verwendet und zeigte minimale Aggregation und minimale unspezifische Bindung an Biomoleküle.[2]
Für die Präparation einer Reihe von ternären Verbindungen zur Herstellung von Polyimid/SiO/Polydiphenylsiloxan-Kompositfolien mit guter optischer Transparenz.[3]
Self-assembled Monolayer (SAM) aus APTES kann verwendet werden, um die Adhäsion von Graphenflocken und SiO2 zu verbessern, damit ein besserer Kontakt mit den Metallelektroden erzielt wird. Diese Elektroden können als elektroresponsive Tools für Biosensoranwendungen eingesetzt werden.[4] Sie eignen sich für die Funktionalisierung von Silandiazirin in faseroptische Biosensoranwendungen.[5] Mittels APTES kann die Oberfläche von Hollow Microcarriers (HMC) modifiziert werden, um deren Verwendung für regenerative Medikamente und rekombinante Zellen in der Biopharmazeutik zu ermöglichen.[6]

General description

(3-Aminopropyl)tiethoxysilan (APTES) wird als ein Aminosilan verwendet, das hauptsächlich als Dispergiermittel zur Anwendung kommt. Für die Biokonjugation bindet APTES eine Aminogruppe an das funktionelle Silan.[7][8]

  2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.

    1. Typically, a mass proportion of 1-2 wt% of APTES is recommended for effective functionalization. However, please note that APTES may not effectively bind to pristine graphite, and surface modification of the graphite may be necessary to enhance the functionalization process.

    1. Yes, APTES can bond with fused silica. Fused silica, like silica gel, has hydroxyl (–OH) groups on its surface. When APTES is introduced to the fused silica surface, it undergoes hydrolysis. The ethoxy groups (–OEt) in APTES react with water, forming silanol groups (–Si–OH). The newly formed silanol groups can then react with the hydroxyl groups on the fused silica surface. This reaction leads to the formation of siloxane bonds (–Si–O–Si–), resulting in a covalent attachment of APTES to the fused silica.

If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.     1. Unfortunately, there is no information on the minimum coverage of this material. It would depend on the coating method, including solvent, temperature, etc.

  7. Can this product be used to silanize a surface by using silane deposition via gas-phase evaporation?

    1. This material has not been tested for use in silane deposition. APTES is referenced in the literature frequently in the vapor phase deposition of biosensors. The suitability would have to be determined experimentally.
