Applicazioni

Ethanol has been used in indirect immunofluorescence for washing the mouse tissues section and then mounted in elvanol for visualizing with a BX60 photomicroscope.[1] It has also been used for thymocyte preparation.[2]

Azioni biochim/fisiol

Ethanol provides controlled pH, temperature and ionic strength for protein separation.[2] It blocks the ion current induced by the glutamate receptor agonist N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) in hippocampal neurons.[3]
