ミオキナーゼは、アデニンヌクレオチド代謝に関与する重要な酵素です。ミオキナーゼの作用により、アデニンヌクレオチド（ATP、ADP、およびAMP）は確実にサイトゾル内で平衡状態に保たれます。
ミオキナーゼは次の反応を触媒します：ADP + ADP → ATP + AMP
