Application

Forma derivados aminopropílicos del vidrio, un adsorbente para la cromatografía de afinidad. Se utiliza para preparar portaobjetos con carga positiva adecuados para emplear en varios procedimientos de inmunohistoquímica y de hibridación in situ.[1] Recientemente, se ha utilizado el (3-aminopropil)trietoxisilano para preparar nanopartículas de sílice dopadas con colorante con agregación mínima y mínima unión inespecífica con biomoléculas.[2]
Las monocapas autoensambladas (SAM) de APTES pueden utilizarse para mejorar la adhesión de copos de grafeno y SiO2 con el objeto de permitir un mejor contacto con los electrodos de metal. Esos electrodos pueden utilizarse como herramientas electrosensibles para aplicaciones de biodetección.[3] Pueden utilizarse para funcionalizar la diacirina de silano para aplicación de biosensores de fibra óptica.[4] Los microtransportadores huecos (HMC) pueden modificarse en superficie con APTES, lo que puede utilizarse para medicinas regenerativas y células recombinantes en las industrias biofarmacéuticas.[5]
Se utiliza en una preparación de una serie de películas de composite ternario de poliimida/SiO/polidifenilsiloxano con buena transparencia óptica.[6]

General description

El (3-aminopropil)trietoxisilano (APTES) se utiliza como un amino-silano que se emplea principalmente como dispersante. El APTES une un grupo amino al silano funcional para bioconjugación.[7][8]

  2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.

    1. Typically, a mass proportion of 1-2 wt% of APTES is recommended for effective functionalization. However, please note that APTES may not effectively bind to pristine graphite, and surface modification of the graphite may be necessary to enhance the functionalization process.

    1. Yes, APTES can bond with fused silica. Fused silica, like silica gel, has hydroxyl (–OH) groups on its surface. When APTES is introduced to the fused silica surface, it undergoes hydrolysis. The ethoxy groups (–OEt) in APTES react with water, forming silanol groups (–Si–OH). The newly formed silanol groups can then react with the hydroxyl groups on the fused silica surface. This reaction leads to the formation of siloxane bonds (–Si–O–Si–), resulting in a covalent attachment of APTES to the fused silica.

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.     1. Unfortunately, there is no information on the minimum coverage of this material. It would depend on the coating method, including solvent, temperature, etc.

  7. Can this product be used to silanize a surface by using silane deposition via gas-phase evaporation?

    1. This material has not been tested for use in silane deposition. APTES is referenced in the literature frequently in the vapor phase deposition of biosensors. The suitability would have to be determined experimentally.
