For assay purposes, prepare stock solutions in HPLC-grade acetonitrile at 1 mg/mL - note that PubChem reports a density of 1.235 g/mL at room temperature. This material is also soluble in DMSO up to 100 mg/mL. Further solubility and stability studies have not been performed. Other sources indicate stock solutions should be transferred to an amber PTFE-lined vial and stored at 2–8 °C, protected from light. Aqueous stock solutions are subject to hydrolysis and should be used immediately. Handle this compound in a fume hood with appropriate PPE due to high toxicity. General description
Malaoxon is one of the major metabolites of malathion and a widely used insecticide in agriculture. Its mode of action includes DNA damage in human lymphocytes by the mechanism of oxidative action.
