General description

The potassium dihydrogen phosphate/disodium hydrogen phosphate certified buffer solution is gravimetrically prepared using high-quality reagents and water at a registered calibration laboratory. Its pH value of 7.00 at 25°C is measured using a combined glass electrode following a 5-point calibration method. The measurement is made following DIN 19268 using reference buffer solutions compliant to DIN 19266, NIST, IUPAC, Ph. Eur, and USP. The buffer’s pH value is strongly dependent on the temperature and therefore a constant temperature must be maintained during its use.

Please visit ISO certificates and Site Quality Self-Assessments to access the current certificates of accreditation.

Download your certificate at http://www.sigma-aldrich.com to view certified values, including uncertainty and expiry date.

Application

The buffer is used as a standard to calibrate pH measuringinstruments or pH electrodes and as a control to measure the pH of othersolutions.

Features and Benefits

  • Measured and qualified at an ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034 accredited laboratory

Questions

  1. Hello, what is the precision of the pH buffer Certipur? Are they compliant to Chinese Pharmacopeia chapter 0631? Thank you very much in advance for support. Best regards. Niels

    1 answer
    1. The pH specification for this product is certified to fall between 6.99 and 7.01. Precision must be measured using the specific instrument. The pH value is determined with a combined glass electrode after 5-point calibration according to DIN 19268, utilizing reference buffer solutions in accordance with DIN 19266, IUPAC, NIST, Ph.Eur., and USP.
