Application

ProClin™ preservatives are immediately microstatic upon contact with microbial organisms as a result of their ability to quickly penetrate cell membranes and inhibit specific enzymes crucial to cellular respiration. Multiple specific sites of ProClin™ toxicity prevent microorganisms from developing high levels of resistance, making ProClin™ highly efficient even over extended storage periods of your IVD components.

Questions

  1. What is the refractive index of Proclin 150?

    1 answer
    1. The refractive index of ProClin™ 150 is not explicitly stated in product data sheets; however, related physical properties indicate it is an aqueous solution with a density of approximately 1.20 g/cm³. Because the primary matrix is water and the concentration of other components is relatively low (1.5%), its refractive index is likely close to that of water (approximately 1.33 at 20 °C), but the specific value is not determined by QC.
