This product does not include empty ampoules. The product is a ready-to-use set of sealed, pre-filled reference ampoules (B1–B9), along with a blind or blank sample ampoule. The color standard ampoules are not intended to be opened or refilled. For the testing purposes, the test sample solution should be prepared separately, in an appropriate container (e.g., matched tubes or suitable vessels) and visually compared against the provided reference ampoules. This product is suitable for use according to Ph. Eur. 2.2.2, including Visual Method II.

General description
The kit contains a set of nine brown color reference standards (identified sequentially from B1 to B9) and a 1% hydrogen chloride solution in water. The solutions are produced from three primary metal salt solutions of ferric(III) chloride, cobalt(II) chloride, and copper(II) sulfate pentahydrate, in accordance with chapter 2.2.2 ′Degree of colouration of liquids′ of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.).
Application
They are used as calibration and/or quality control standards to measure the degree of coloration of liquids in the brown-yellow-red color range.

Is the kit compatible with both Method I/Method II described in the EP 2.2.2? If it has been validated or is suitable for only one of the two methods, could you please specify: which method it is suitable for; the technical reason for this limitation?

The product is suitable for EP Method 2.2.2 Degree of Coloration of Liquids, Visual Method II. Method I specifies the use of 2.0 ml of test solution.
