General description

Heparin‑Binding Epidermal Growth Factor‑Like Growth Factor (HB‑EGF) is a recombinant human member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family, expressed in baculovirus‑infected Sf21 insect cells and supplied as a lyophilized powder. HB‑EGF is produced with high purity (≥97%) and is suitable for use in mammalian cell culture and in vitro research applications.

Recombinant human HB‑EGF is commonly used in cell‑based research applications, including: •Mammalian cell culture studies
•Growth and signaling studies in EGF‑responsive cell lines
•Cellular proliferation and migration assays in in vitro model systems

Biochem/physiol Actions

ヘパリン結合上皮細胞増殖因子(HB-EGF)は、BTCと同様に、ヘパリン結合EGFファミリ-に属します。天然の可溶型HB-EGFは、不均一な切断により多型を示す19 kDaの糖タンパク質です。可溶型HB-EGFは、線維芽細胞、ケラチノサイト、平滑筋細胞に対してはマイトジェンや走化性物質として作用しますが、毛細血管内皮細胞に対してはそのような作用を示しません。HB-EGFの産生は、単球、マクロファ-ジ、血管平滑筋、大動脈平滑筋で認められます。HB-EGFは、アテロ-ム性動脈硬化の病因に関与していると考えられています。また、Jun誘発性の癌化のエフェクタ-とも考えられています。HB-EGFは、EGFRと高度の親和性で、ErbBと中等度の親和性で結合します。
