WR-1065は、活性酸素種のスカベンジャーとして細胞保護作用を発揮する細胞透過性の化合物です。また、p53の活性化、再活性化物質です。最近、抗レトロウイルス活性を有することや、悪性腫瘍の放射線療法の損傷効果から正常組織を選択的に保護するアミフォスチンの活性代謝物であることが明らかとなっています。
WR-1065は、活性酸素種のスカベンジャーとして細胞保護作用を発揮する細胞透過性の化合物です。また、アミフォスチンの活性代謝物です。
WR-1065はプロドラッグであるアミフォスチンの活性代謝産物で、アルカリホスファターゼにより生成されます。この化合物は多くの上皮組織に蓄積することが明らかになっています。WR-1065は、細胞膜およびDNAをフリーラジカルが誘発する傷害から保護します。
