Application

Methyl-β-cyclodextrin is a macrocyclic compound that can form inclusion complexes with a number of guest molecules. It shows higher solubility in aqueous solutions and greater solubilizing and complexing power compared to the parent β-cyclodextrin. MβCD can be used to enhance the enzyme activity and enantioselectivity of subtilisin enzyme in organic solvents.

Questions

  1. What exactly are the implications of the R&D and Quality Segment 200 declarations for the testing of the product, particularly with regard to contaminants (e.g., heavy metals / which “Reducing Substances”, “Volatile Impurities”)?

    1 answer
    1. Quality Segment 200 confirms that the product is only against the specifications listed in the CoA. It does not imply comprehensive testing for contaminants such as heavy metals or specific residual solvents. "Reducing substances" refers to total reducing organic impurities, while "volatile impurities" refers to total volatile organic residues, without identifying individual compounds.
