Pure chlorobenzene is an aromatic organic compound most commonly used as a solvent and as a precursor in chemical syntheses. It is an intermediate in dyes and pesticide production and used in insect repellents, deodorants, and degreasers.

Application

Chlorobenzene may be used as an extraction solvent in the determination of chlorophenols in water samples and triazine herbicides in aqueous samples by chromatography techniques.
