Application
Biochem/physiol Actions
Leucine plays a role in intracellular signaling, gene transcription, and translation. It promotes the synthesis of protein by activating the mammalian target of the rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway in placental cells, skeletal muscles, and adipose tissue. Leucine inhibits protein degradation and promotes mitochondrial biogenesis, glucose metabolism, and fatty acid oxidation to provide energy for protein synthesis.

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.
