General description
Le rétinol, ou vitamine A sous sa forme alcool, est la principale forme circulante de la vitamine A. Il n'est pas actif sur le plan biologique. Le rétinol ou rétinol tout-trans est une molécule de 20 atomes de carbone comprenant un groupement cyclohexényle, une chaîne latérale à quatre doubles liaisons (en configuration trans) et une fonction alcool terminale.
Application
Le rétinol a été utilisé :
- pour la synthèse d'acide rétinoïque tout-trans dans des cellules HepG2
- pour étudier l'effet du rétinol sur la croissance de cellules de côlon murines normales cultivées sous forme d'organoïdes
- comme étalon pour le dosage de la vitamine A dans les cellules
- dans un milieu de culture d'organe testiculaire et de spermatogenèse in vitro chimiquement défini
Biochem/physiol Actions
Le rétinol et ses dérivés possèdent des propriétés antivieillissement. C'est également un agent antiride. Cependant, en raison de sa sensibilité à la lumière et de sa tendance à irriter la peau, il est peu utilisé dans les formulations cosmétiques. Le rétinol est utilisé dans le traitement des dermatoses telles que le photovieillissement. Un lien a été établi entre un déficit en rétinol et l'apparition de xéroses et d'hyperkératoses folliculaires.
Le rétinol est un précurseur des rétinoïdes actifs. Il est converti en rétinaldéhyde, puis en acide rétinoïque. L'acide rétinoïque tout-trans et l'acide rétinoïque 9-cis sont les ligands des récepteurs nucléaires RAR (récepteurs de l'acide rétinoïque) et RXR (récepteur du rétinoïde X). Ces récepteurs régulent la transcription de nombreux gènes.

The overfill tolerance for this product varies depending on the pack size. For 25 mg, the overfill tolerance is +1.0 mg. For 100 mg, the overfill tolerance is +5 mg. For 250 mg, the overfill tolerance is +10 mg. For 500 mg, the overfill tolerance is +25 mg. For 1 g, the overfill tolerance is +0.05 g.

If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.
