General description

Thrombin Receptor Activator Peptide 6 (TRAP-6) protects astrocytes from cell death, which is associated with hypoglycemia. TRAP-6 induced aggregation and impaired adhesion to collagen under flow conditions.

Application

Thrombin Receptor Activator Peptide 6 has been used to activate platelets in vitro. It has also been used to downregulate hippo signaling and increase nuclear yes-associated protein (YAP).

Biochem/physiol Actions

Hexapeptide fragment of the thrombin receptor (residues 42-47).
Hexapeptide fragment of the thrombin receptor (residues 42-47). Shown to activate the thrombin receptor and cause platelet aggregation (EC50 = 0.8 μM).

Other Notes

Lyophilized from 0.1% TFA in H2O

Questions

  1. I have bought T1573 Thrombin Receptor Activator Peptide 6 reagent. I have to use this reagent for platelet flowcytometry. This I have received in lyophilized powder form. From this reagent I have to prepare a solution. Tell me the dissolving agent?

    1 answer
    1. The solubility of this product is tested at 1 mg/mL in water containing 0.1% TFA. While this material has not been tested specifically for use in Flow Cytometry, historical data indicates stock solutions may be further diluted with PBS containing 0.2% albumin for use in platelet flow cytometry assays.
