Descrizione generale

Percoll® è un classico terreno per la centrifugazione a gradiente di densità di cellule, virus e particelle subcellulari. Percoll è costituito da particelle di silice colloidale di 15-30 nm di diametro (23% p/p in acqua) rivestite con polivinilpirrolidone (PVP). Il rivestimento in PVP rende il prodotto totalmente non tossico e ideale per l′uso con materiali biologici.

Applicazioni

Percoll è costituito da particelle di silice colloidale di 15-30 nm di diametro (23% p/p in acqua) rivestite con polivinilpirrolidone (PVP). È usato nella separazione cellulare e nell′isolamento degli organuli.
Percoll è costituito da particelle di silice colloidale di 15-30 nm di diametro (23% p/p in acqua) rivestite con polivinilpirrolidone (PVP). È usato per definire gradienti di densità non tossici a bassa viscosità, bassa osmolarità utilizzabili per isolare cellule, organuli e virus. È stato usato per separare le vescicole di membrana interne ed esterne da E. coli. Percoll è isosmotico lungo tutto il gradiente, non è tossico e si rimuove con facilità dai materiali purificati.
Percoll® è stato usato nella preparazione dello sperma per studiare le richieste di energia degli embrioni bovini.[1]
