General description

A 140 μm thick hydrophobic porous sealing film with medical-grade adhesive for tissue culture plates, bio-blocks, and 96-well plates where gas exchange is necessary for cell or bacterial growth. AeraSeal sealing films minimize cross-contamination, spillage and evaporation. They allow uniform air and CO2 exchange for all wells, unlike plate lids which favor exchange for wells near the plate edges. Dimensions: 82.6 by 142.9 mm for standard-size tissue culture plate.

Application

  • AeraSeal films have been used for the covering of 96-well opaque white plates to incubate bacterial cells.[1]
  • It has been used for the sealing of 96 deep-well plate for culturing of yeast cells.[2]
  • It has been used for the sealing of 96-well microtitre plate to separate mites.
  • Suitable for hypoxic culture conditions
  • Cell culture
  • Tissue culture
  • Bacterial culture

In the absence of antibiotic-mediated selection, sensitive bacteria are expected to displace their resistant counterparts if resistance genes are costly. However, many resistance genes persist for long periods in the absence of antibiotics. Horizontal gene transfer (primarily conjugation) could explain

The poultry red mite (PRM), Dermanyssusgallinae, is a hematophagous ectoparasite of birds with worldwide distribution that causes economic losses in the egg-production sector of the poultry industry. Traditional control methods, mainly based on acaricides, have been only partially successful, and
