Application
L-α-Hydroxyglutarsäure-Dinatriumsalz eignet sich zur Verwendung in Sammelpuffer für die gesteigerte Rückgewinnung von Hypoxie-induzierter Faktor-1 α (HIF-1α) als Marker für Hypoxie in menschlichen Tumoren.[1] Es eignet sich auch für den radioaktiv markierten 5mC-5hmC-Umwandlungsassay zur Untersuchung der Wirkung von 2-HG auf die TET-Familie der Methylhydroxyalasen.[2]
Biochem/physiol Actions
L-alpha-Hydroxyglutarsäure reichert sich als Resultat eines seltenen Defekts von L-2-HG-Dehydogenase an, was zu der Stoffwechselstörung L-2-Hydroxy-Glutarazidurie (L-2HGA) führt. L-2HGA steht mit neuronalen Schäden, Leukodystrophie sowie einem erhöhten Risiko für Gehirntumore in Verbindung.
