Description

General description

Tetracaine hydrochloride is a local anesthetic drug and an ester derivative of p-amino benzoic acid.[1] It acts by interfering with the entry of sodium ions into nerve cells and is one of the commonly used topical anesthetics.[2]
Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.

Application

Tetracaine hydrochloride may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in bulk drug and pharmaceutical formulations by high performance liquid chromatography.[3][4][5][6]
