  • As a starting reagent for the synthesis of various lithium salts (lithium chloride and lithium bromide).[2]

General description

Lithium carbonate (Li2CO3), a lithium salt, is a white monoclinic crystalline solid. Its industrial preparation has been described. In laboratory, it can be synthesized by reacting carbon dioxide gas with a lithium hydroxide solution.[2]
