Description

General description

DL-Menthol is a racemic mixture of D- and L-menthol. Its optical resolution produces L-menthol, which is widely used in confectionaries cosmetics and toothpaste for its characteristic peppermint flavor and cooling effect.

Application

• Developing of an eco-friendly liquid-liquid microextraction method by using menthol-based hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent for determination of basic fuchsin dye: assessment of the greenness profile.: This study introduces a sustainable method using DL-menthol-based solvents for extracting and analyzing industrial dyes, providing a green alternative to traditional solvent extraction techniques (Aydin et al., 2024).
