General description

Carboxylic acids are readily soluble in polar solvents such as water and alcohols.[1] DSPE-PEG(2000) carboxylic acid consists of a hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain of 2kDa.[2]

Application

DSPE-PEG(2000) carboxylic acid has been used:
  • to covalently conjugate integrin α-2 (ITGA2) antibodies to the surface of the liposomes[2]
  • in the preparation of atosiban-conjugated liposomes[3]
  • to prepare dual complementary liposome[4]

Biochem/physiol Actions

DSPE-PEG(2000) carboxylic acid increases the blood circulation time of liposomes. The carboxyl group of DSPE-PEG(2000) carboxylic acid aids in covalent conjugation with antibodies.[2]
