General description
Bilirubin ditaurate (BDT) is the first bile pigment found naturally in the biles of specific fish species. It consists of unconjugated bilirubin (UCB) with taurine side chains attached to the C8 and C12 propionic acids, similar in length to glucuronic acids.
Application
Bilirubin Conjugate, Ditaurate, Disodium Salt has been used to spike patient samples to access icterus interference. It has also been used to prepare test pools for conjugated bilirubin to screen bilirubin interference.
Bilirubin Conjugate, Ditaurate, Disodium Salt – Calbiochem has been used as a standard for testing the interference of conjugated bilirubin in assays aimed at quantifying analytes in serum or plasma samples.
