Application

α-Naphthylamine and sulfanilic acid are used for detection of nitrate reduction by bacteria. Organisms containing nitrate reductase reduce nitrate to nitrite, which forms a diazonium salt with sulfanilic acid and reacts with α-naphthylamine to form a red azo dye.

A novel bacterial consortium (TJ-2) for mineralization of aromatic amines resulting from decolorization of azo dyes was developed. Three bacterial strains were identified as Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes (TJ-21,EU072476), Pseudomonas citronellolis (TJ-22,EU072477) and Pseudomonas testosterone (TJ-23,EU072477) by 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis.

A chemically modified electrode is constructed based on the multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs)/4-aminobenzeresulfonic acid (4-ABSA) film-coated glassy carbon electrode. The electrocatalytic oxidation of tyrosine (Tyr) is investigated on the surface of the MWNTs/4-ABSA-modified electrode using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential

2-Aryl benzothiazole formation from aryl ketones and 2-aminobenzenethiols under metal- and I(2)-free conditions was described. Various 2-aryl benzothiazoles were selectively obtained in good yields using molecular oxygen as oxidant. DMSO played an important role in this transformation. Functional groups such

Specific agars and broths support detection and cultivation of Campylobacter, requiring complex media with essential supplements.

Vibrios are motile, curved or comma-shaped bacilli and have a single polar flagella with sheet proteins. They are often found in open water, freshwater and saltwater.
