General description
Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) is an amphipathic molecule and contains both highly polar and apolar groups, making it an efficient solvent as it can dissolve in both aqueous and organic solvents. It has its therapeutic use in the treatment of a variety of human conditions such as brain edema, amyloidosis, interstitial cystitis, and schizophrenia. It is a commonly used solvent for hydrophobic pharmaceutical agents, exhibiting effective hydroxyl radical scavenging ability. Commercially it is produced by oxidation of dimethylsulfide (DMS) with dinitrogen tetroxide. It is a component of a wide variety of foodstuffs and beverages.[1][2]

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.
