L'albumina di siero bovino è stata usata:
- come componente della miscela PCR (reazione a catena della polimerasi)[1]
- nella preparazione di neuroni corticali dissociati[2]
- durante la marcatura immunofluorescente[2]
- come componente della soluzione salina priva di Ca2+ (che contiene collagenasi, ialuronidasi e DNAsi) usata per la digestione di tessuto bovino[3]
Biochem/physiol Actions
Si sospetta che alcuni epitopi conformazionali e di sequenza primaria di BSA siano allergeni nelle allergie umane a carne bovina e latte.
Preparation Note
Ci si riferisce alla sieroalbumina come Frazione V. Questa designazione è presa dal metodo originale introdotto da Cohn per frazionare siero proteine usando la precipitazione in etanolo a freddo. La sieroalbumina è stata trovata da Cohn nella quinta frazione col suo metodo basato sull′etanolo. Da allora il termine “Frazione V” è stato usato da alcuni a prescindere dal metodo di preparazione. Altri hanno usato questa terminologia riferita a sieroalbumina purificata con metodi di frazionamento basati su etanolo che sono stati profondamente modificati dai tempi in cui Cohn li ha descritti. Sigma-Aldrich produce e distribuisce sieroalbumine purificate con vari metodi primari inclusi il metodo originale di frazionamento di Cohn, metodi modificati di frazionamento con etanolo, shock termico e cromatografia. Stadi successivi di purificazione possono comprendere cristallizzazione o filtrazione su carbone attivo.

After reconstitution in PBS, for how long is the protein stable in solution if stored at 4°C or -20*C?

Prepared BSA solution products also available for purchase. These products have a shelf life ranging from 18 months to 2 years. Many are assigned a restest schedule with no firm expiration date. These products are prepared in saline, DPBS, or Tris. These solutions are filtered products and offered in a range of concentrations. The storage recommendation for these products is 2 - 8 deg. C. In addition, BSA is often used as a carrier protein for less stable compounds that are stored frozen. While there is no established shelf life for a BSA solution stored frozen, it is quite stable. Does this BSA have bovine immunoglobulins?

This product does contain bovine immunoglobulins. BSA products that do not contain immunoglobulins will state "globulin-free" or "essentially globulin-free" on the product detail page. Product A3156 is an example of an immunoglobulin free BSA product.

We have not tested A7906 in quality control to be protease-free. Other BSA products to suggest that are protease-free would be A3059 or B6917.

A7906 is not tested in quality control for insulin levels. One BSA that is indicated as "suitable for insulin RIA procedures" is A7888.

We have not tested the use of A7906 in ELISA. Because the remainder of the product is mostly globulins, we would not suggest A7906 for ELISA use.

We have not ourselves tested A7906 for use in immunohistochemistry.
