General description
The MQuant® Tin test includes test strips and all necessary reagents and can be used to test for tin and tin compounds in electroplating baths, reducing agents, stabilizers, catalysts, disinfectants, fungicides and mordants used in the textile industry and, more especially, in liquid foods. In the test, all tin ions are reduced to tin(II) ions. These react with toluene-3,4-dithiol to form a red dye. The tin concentration is measured semi-quantitatively by visual comparison of the reaction zone of the test strip with the fields of a color scale. The test strips are perfect for pre-testing a sample in an economic and quick way to estimate the tin concentration and a possible dilution factor prior to using a quantitative method such as a Spectroquant® Tin test.
Design for sustainability benefits:
We continue to demonstrate our commitment to our planet and a sustainable future by exploring ways to improve existing products in our portfolio. We have recently reviewed the current line of MQuant® test strips to identify key opportunities to minimize impact without compromising on the product performance.
This product has benefited from:
- Test strip with reduction
- Recycled aluminum tube
- Digital instruction leaflet
Application
- The Emission Test for Qualitative Detection of Tin(II): A Plausible Mechanistic Insight.: This study delves into the emission test for the qualitative detection of tin(II) ions, providing a detailed mechanistic insight. The research highlights the utility of this test in analytical chemistry, showcasing its potential applications in various qualitative analyses (Ghosh, 2024).
