The mass of retentate after a solution is filtered would allow the determination of the amount of insoluble material present. Unfortunately, this test is not performed on this product as this product is not a solution.

Allgemeine Beschreibung
Natriumdodecylsulfat (SDS) oder Natriumlaurylsulfat ist weithin als anionisches Tensid in der Organosulfat-Klasse von organischen Verbindungen bekannt. Seine Wirksamkeit als Detergens reicht von ionischen bis anionischen Bedingungen. SDS spielt eine entscheidende Rolle als Proteindenaturierungsmittel und erleichtert die Solubilisierung und Denaturierung von Proteinen bei Verfahren wie Proteinextraktion und SDS-PAGE. Aufgrund seiner Bedeutung bei der elektrophoretischen Auftrennung von Proteinen und Lipiden ist es für die Untersuchung dieser Moleküle in verschiedenen biologischen Experimenten unentbehrlich. Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass Natriumdodecylsulfat ein unverzichtbares Element bei der Untersuchung biologischer Moleküle innerhalb der Bereiche der biochemischen und zellbiologischen Forschung ist.

Anwendung
Anionische Waschsubstanz
Natriumdodecylsulfat (SDS) wurde für folgende Anwendungen verwendet:
- Charakterisierung von Enterobacteriaceae-Stämmen, basierend auf der Empfindlichkeit gegenüber selektiven Substanzen[1]
- Behandlung der menschlichen Haut in vitro und in vivo zur Beurteilung der Rolle der Zellkernlokalisierung des 27-kDa-Hitzeschockproteins (HSP27) bei möglichen Hautreizungen[2]
- Dezellularisierung von Schweineherzklappengewebe[3]
- Behandlung von Sperma zur In-vitro-Induktion der Dekondensierung der Spermien[4]
Biochem./physiol. Wirkung
Natriumdodecylsulfat (SDS) trägt zum schnellen Aufbrechen der biologischen Membranen bei. Es ist in der Regel eines der Hauptbestandteile verschiedener Reagenzien, die zur Aufreinigung von Nukleinsäuren eingesetzt werden. SDS kann die Aktivität der RNase und der Desoxyribonuklease (DNase) blockieren.[5]

How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.
